Chromatoprobe

Chromatoprobe is a revolutionary inlet device that adapts to your existing Agilent 4890, 5890,6850, 6890 or 7890 split/splitless inlet. The installation takes only minutes and is as easy to install as changing the insert of your inlet - view Chromatoprobe installation on Agilent 6890 GC.Once installed you are ready to analyze solid samples with your split/splitless inlet. 2.Screw adapter to inlet and tighten inlet nut to adapter.

3.Insert Chromatoprobe into adapter.

1.Loosen and remove inlet nut.Replace insert with 4mm open insert.

How it works

  • Place a small amount of solid sample in the disposable micro-vials ( 3mm x 15mm )
  • Put the micro-vial in the Chromatoprobe
  • Insert the Chromatoprobe in the inlet
  • Start the GC or GC/MS acquisition

No special software, electronics or inlet hardware modifications are required! Just connect the Chromatoprobe adapter to the inlet! In addition, because sensitivity is not a problem when you are analyzing micro grams of sample the inlet is place in a high split mode. As a result the entire system remains clean – even the ion source! Unlike a Direct Insertion Probe (DIP) that would otherwise dirty the ion source, analyzer and multiplier. With Chromatoprobe the sample is desorbed in the inlet NOT in the ion source! Chromatoprobe is an ideal replacement for a DI Probe.
